Quebec, Canada - (The Hosting News) - October 1, 2008 - Internet hosting infrastructure provider, iWeb Group Inc. and subsidiary of iWeb Technologies, has opened its new head office, located on on Nuns’ Island, housing a completely redundant IT center.

Eric Chouinard, President of iWeb noted, ”The new headquarters addresses two major objectives; to provide a high quality colocation infrastructure for our clients, and to reunite almost all of our employees by providing a unique working environment. Until recently, iWeb’s 120 employees were spread out in our three data centers.”

Nicole Menard, Parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and Minister of Tourism, remarked, ”This new step in your young history reflects the energy that has marked your growth.”

This is the third building for iWeb, who are already thinking about the fourth according to Mr. Chouinard. The former headquarters, located at 3185 Hochelaga, will remain staffed to fully support the 1800 servers on site. The second center, located in the Montreal borough of Saint-Leonard, has a total capacity of 12 000 dedicated servers and 105 colocation cabinets.

Gerald Tremblay, Mayor of Montreal added, ”If iWeb is now recognized as a world leader in the field of web hosting, it is thanks to the perseverance of its leaders who managed to avoid the pitfalls of the dot com implosion while steering their business towards promising growth markets.”

iWeb is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V : IWB), and is one of the largest Canadian providers of Internet hosting services and IT infrastructure. With three secure data centers, all in Montreal, iWeb has carved out an enviable position on the international scene with more than 60% of its revenues from abroad.

iWeb recently announced plans to add three new carriers, the addition of these three new transit providers will mean better diversity, redundancy and reachability for all our customers and partners, including:

- T-Systems / Deutsche Telekom
- 3Men@Work / Bell Peering
- Level 3 Communications

With the additional transit providers, iWeb will be directly linked to more networks which will result in connections being more direct and more efficient for all customers. These additions will affect mostly the High Quality Network customers, but will also enhance incoming routes for its Redundant Unmetered Network customers; while also providing additional redundancy.

The Unmetered Network upgrade includes additional Cogent Bandwidth.
Once all the upgrades will be completed, iWeb’s network will have a total network capacity of 15 Gbps dedicated to hosting services. The High-Quality Network and incoming routes will combine the networks of 7 carriers for a total of 11 Gbps, while the Redundant Unmetered Network (Cogent-based) now totals 4 Gbps. It is important to note that each part of iWeb’s network (High Quality and Unmetered) is configured to backup the other if necessary and that customers of both networks benefit from all available routes for incoming traffic.

Below is complete list of its network composition:
- 3 Gbps with Videotron Telecom
- 3 Gbps with Tata Communications, formerly Teleglobe
- 4 Gbps with Cogent Communications (Unmetered Network)
- 1 Gbps with Peer1 Network
- 1 Gbps with Priority Colo (TorIX peering)
- 1 Gbps with Level 3 Communications (Coming at the end of August)
- 1 Gbps from 3 Men @ Work (Bell peering)
- 1 Gbps from T-Systems / Deutsche Telekom

iWeb’s first telecom link, back in 2000, was a 100 Mbps link, which had less than 1% of the capacity offered to iWeb customers currently. In the next few months, the company also expects to upgrade its main transit providers to 10Gbps.

The company attained ranking among Profit Magazine’s top 100 Canadian companies, based on revenue growth over the past 5 years. From 2002 to 2007, the company’s revenues have gone from 1.35 million to 9.82 million as of October 1st 2007, an increase of 627%; enough for iWeb to make its entry into the 100th position on the annual ranking. The PROFIT 100 is the annual ranking which rates the top 100 Canadian companies based on the percentage of their revenue growth over a 5-year span. Produced by the business magazine PROFIT, 2008 marks the 20th edition of the ranking.
